About
IELYZAVETA I.
"As a thinker and creator, I am on a perpetual quest to customize unique experiences for each individual and community and permeate interiors with creativity and wellness. In an attempt to create high-performance biophilic environments, I integrate innovative technology, create vessels for culture, space-plan for inclusivity, and adaptively reuse old structures.
I believe design is multidisciplinary, and only in collaboration with adjacent industries, it can achieve its full potential. Bringing art, fashion, product, to populate interiors, and work in conjunction with one another and tell a captivating story is my passion.
Throughout my time at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I learned to seize opportunities and constantly evolve. In 2020, I received an Honorable Mention in the challenge hosted by PAVE, which focused on creating a reimagined technological experience. I was selected by Metropolis Magazine to be featured in the March/April 2021 issue on the “Future 100” list. I was also recognized in a competition by IDEC in 2020 and awarded grants by PAVE, Bergmeyer, and Glenn Boyles.
I value Thought Leadership, Advocacy, Excellence, and Community in design. I aspire to work in a multidisciplinary environment, the scope of which combines different project typologies, ranging from retail and hospitality to healthcare and service designs and architecture. Seeing as design is multifaceted in its essence, I want to learn as much as possible about innovative technologies, industrial and product design, marketing, and business, as all these industries are interconnected in our profession.
My design projects are a direct reflection of the way I imbue the world. Similar to the biological process of metamorphosis, my academic work explores the concept of transformation, specifically, how the built environment can aid in healing and transforming the lives of individuals and communities. Metamorphosis is defined (in zoology) as “the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages”. Unlike other living organisms, metamorphosis in humans can be limitless, extending well beyond the physiological bounds into creativity, knowledge, spiritual transformations, and self-actualization. Furthermore, I find design and architecture to be powerful tools in aiding that growth, and throughout my work, I use wellness as a basis for creating human-centred spaces.
I strive to use compassion and wellness as driving forces for holistic transformations in urbanism, consumerism and creating living architecture of culture. My ultimate life goal is to continue exploring the innovative potential of global design and pushing beyond the bounds of conventional interiors and architecture. "
